It’s bad taste for the same hosts to do it twice. Go (because she might hold a grudge and you don’t need that kind of family drama), but take a small gift. Like a pack of diapers and some socks or bibs. Your sis-in-law may realize that you shouldn’t have to bring another gift or go to another shower, but she may have wanted to include you to keep from running the risk of hurting your feelings if you got left out. You might even win some sis-in-law bonus points for going and bringing a gift when you have already done it once.

The only way I could see anyone having two showers is if it’s for each side of the family. Otherwise, I think she’s being greedy. If you already went to the one for your side of the family, then don’t go if this one is for her side.

My friends threw me a shower when i was 6 months because i was moving close to my family. Then my family threw me a shower and there were a couple close friends who i wanted to be there for my family function also, i didn’t want or expect a gift i simply wanted their company and i thought they would have a good time. I wouldn’t assume that that she is responsible for 2 showers, so i wouldn’t be offended however I also don think you should not be expected to buy another gift. she is your sis-in-law so i would go and be there to support and celebrate the coming of your new niece/nephew. if you want offer to make a special dish or help decorate, but a gift is Definitely not necessary.

That is really lame…the only way i would have 2 baby showers…is if one of them was for one side of my family (mom’s side) and the other one was my other side (dad’s side)….that’s about it.

I definitely wouldn’t send a person that had been to one baby shower ANOTHER invitation. That’s just low/shallow.

She maynot have much choice in deciding how many showers she wants – sometimes different groups of friends want it separately. Maybe she wants you to be there for company’s sake only.

You can either go with no gift at all or maybe add a personal touch by offering to arrange some baby shower games/ bring a dish or make a scrapbook for the baby!

She mailed the invites? Oh, how many showers does she need? Very tacky, if she mailed the invites or even supplied the guest list. Tell her you love her and the forth coming niece/nephew, and that should be gift enough after the last gift. Babysitting (favor)will come soon enough for you!

i would go but not take a gift again. if she held 10 showers, u have to take 10 gifts? no way. she wants more than 1 shower, so it’s her choice but if she’s doing that for double gifts, then that’s socially rude.

I think its very cheeky to have two baby showers for one baby. Its your decision to go or not. Maybe just take some food with you this time, for the buffet.
